These are clinics in central Tokyo where you can be seen in English, grouped by what you need. Addresses and phone numbers were checked in October 2026, but call before you go: English-speaking doctors aren't always in every day, and many clinics close at weekends.

General practice

Tokyo Medical and Surgical Clinic (Shiba-koen). Founded in 1951 to serve Tokyo's foreign residents, opposite the entrance to Tokyo Tower. St. Luke's International Hospital (Akashicho, near Tsukiji). A full hospital with more than 40 departments and a 24-hour emergency centre. The international department helps with appointments, language and payment, and free phone interpreting runs around the clock in English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Portuguese. Regenerative medicine (self-pay)

Treatments such as PRP injections and stem-cell-based therapies are not covered by Japanese health insurance, and the government hasn't confirmed that they work. Cell-based treatments must be registered under the regenerative medicine law: ask for the plan number and look it up on the government's e-Regenerative Medicine site. • Bring your My Number Card or eligibility certificate (資格確認書). With Japanese health insurance you usually pay 30% of the cost. With travel or international insurance, ask the clinic in advance whether it bills your insurer directly or you pay and claim.
