Bulgari Hotel Tokyo Review: What Guests Say About It
Bulgari Hotel Tokyo has the highest guest scores of any luxury hotel in the city. What guests love, the few complaints, and whether it is worth the price.

How we wrote this: we have not stayed at Bulgari Hotel Tokyo for this article. It summarizes all 48 guest reviews on TripAdvisor, read on 8 October 2026, with facts checked against reports of the opening. The verdict is ours. This page has no affiliate links.
Bulgari Hotel Tokyo is the newest of the city's top hotels and, on guest scores, the best reviewed. It opened on 6 April 2023 at the top of Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, the tower across the road from Tokyo Station's Yaesu side, as the Italian jeweler's first hotel in Japan. Almost every guest who has reviewed it gives it full marks. The catch is the price, and the small number of reviews so far.

What guests love
The rooms. Guests describe large, beautifully finished rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, very comfortable beds and spectacular views, and several call it the best city hotel they have stayed in. Rooms, cleanliness and sleep all score a perfect 5.0.
The pool and spa. The 25-meter pool, especially at night with the city below, is the most mentioned feature after the rooms. Guests also praise the hot tub, steam rooms and an unusually well-equipped gym.
The location. The hotel is two or three minutes from Tokyo Station, which makes it the most convenient of Tokyo's top hotels for the Shinkansen and the airport trains, and Ginza is a short walk away.
The service. Reviewers describe staff who anticipated what they needed, from the doorman to the spa, and assigned guest experience advisers who looked after them through their stay.
What guests complain about
Complaints are rare: only two of the 48 reviews are below four stars.
Food and drink. The one recurring criticism is that dining doesn't always match the rest of the hotel. One guest who otherwise loved the stay found the room-service Japanese breakfast average and the bar's cocktails ordinary; another had a poor experience with a host at the bar.
The price. Bulgari is among the most expensive hotels in Tokyo, and value, at 4.4, is its lowest score, though still higher than most of its rivals.
Few reviews. At 48, the sample is small compared with the thousands for older hotels, so the near-perfect score should be read with some caution.
Our take
On what guests say, Bulgari is the best luxury hotel in Tokyo right now: the rooms, pool and service are close to faultless, and nothing beats its location for train travel. It is not the best value, and with so few reviews it has not yet been tested the way the Palace Hotel or Mandarin Oriental have. If the price is not the deciding factor, book it; if it is, see our ranking of Tokyo's best luxury hotels for alternatives a few minutes away.
