Where to Play Pickleball in Osaka: ¥500 at Nanko

For a first hour in Osaka, book Nanko. It is ¥500 for one court, for one hour, on a weekday. Toyosu in Tokyo is ¥6,000 for the same kind of hour. The catch is the release time: noon, one month before you play, and not by phone. The rules are in the beginner's guide. Kobe and Tokyo are on the city guide. Every figure below was on the venue's own site on 4 November 2026.

Write "noon, one month before" on the calendar before you do anything else. The office will not take an application earlier than that.

Nanko's winter hours are 9:00–17:00. The ¥2,500 Sakai rate is the limited price printed on its site.

Neither of these has a roof. If the forecast is wet, use the indoor courts in Kobe.

Nanko

Nanko Central Tennis Courts has four outdoor pickleball courts at 8-5-132 Nanko-Higashi, Suminoe-ku. Port Town East (ポートタウン東) on the New Tram is a 10-minute walk. On the Yotsubashi Line, change at Suminoekoen. On the Chuo Line, change at Cosmosquare. By car from the north, leave the Hanshin Expressway Wangan Line at Nanko-kita. The turns are on the facility access page. The change onto the New Tram is the part that is easy to miss, so install a travel eSIM before you fly.

A weekday is ¥500 and a weekend or holiday is ¥800, per court, per hour. If you charge admission or a membership fee, the court fee is 50% higher. A paddle and two balls rent for ¥500 a person, per visit. From 1 May to 31 October the hours are 9:00–21:00. From 1 November to 30 April they are 9:00–17:00. Mondays are closed from November through March, and if that Monday is a holiday the closure moves to Tuesday. The year-end closure is Monday 28 December through Monday 4 January. There are changing rooms and showers.

Booking opens at noon, one month before the day, first come. Earlier than that, the application is refused. Use Tennisugu, the counter, email, or fax. You cannot reserve by phone, and you cannot choose the court. Pay cash at the office on the day. The person who booked has to appear at the office, with ID.

The booking page says that from November, 17:00–19:00 can be opened if you ask by phone on 06-6614-0549. That call is for the extra hours, not for the reservation itself. If it is raining, call the office between one hour before your start and the start time. Shoes must be pickleball shoes or tennis shoes. Cancellation is free until three days before, 50% one or two days before, and 100% on the day.

Sakai

Pickleball Base Osaka is in Sakai, not central Osaka. It is on the 6th floor of Hotel Agora Regency Osaka Sakai, 4-45-1 Ebisujima-cho, Sakai-ku. Nankai Line Sakai Station (堺) is a 1-minute walk. Hours are 8:00–22:00, every day. It is outdoors, so bad weather cancels the session and the club says it will tell you on its official LINE account.

The usual rate is ¥3,000 an hour on a weekday and ¥4,000 on a weekend or holiday. The site also advertises a limited rate of ¥2,500 on every day. Read whichever number is on the page the day you book. A beginner lesson is 60 minutes on a weekday and 30 minutes on a weekend, usually ¥2,000, or ¥1,000 at the limited price. Paddles and balls are at the club. The hotel car park can be used, with no discount.

Common questions

Can you book Nanko by phone? No. From noon, one month before the day, use Tennisugu, the counter, email, or fax. The phone number 06-6614-0549 is for the November evening request, 17:00–19:00, and for a rain check.

Does Nanko stay open until 21:00 in winter? The published hours from 1 November to 30 April are 9:00–17:00. The booking page says 17:00–19:00 can be opened if you call and ask. Mondays are closed from November through March.

Is there an indoor pickleball court in Osaka city? The two venues confirmed on their own sites for this page are both outdoors. For a roof, look at Kobe.
